Ectopia

In medicine, the pathological term, 'ectopia,' is a noun that denotes an organ's or other body part's being in the wrong place.


'Ectopic' is the adjectival form of 'ectopia.' An ectopic pregnancy, for instance, occurs whenever the embryo implants itself outside of the womb.

ἐκ or 'ek' is an Ancient-Greek preposition that means, 'outside of.'

ὁ τόπος or 'ho tópos' is an Ancient-Greek noun that means 'place,' 'location.'
